6,000 GSF

Exhibitions

‘Tools: Extending Our Reach’ was the first exhibit to be presented in the Cooper Hewitt’s versatile new open-plan galleries on the Museum’s third floor. The 6,000 sf exhibition included objects from Cooper Hewitt and nine other Smithsonian collections, spanning diverse cultures, places and time periods.

RDG collaborated with Thinc during the design phase to determine exhibit opportunities, meeting with conservators to establish detailed plans for appropriate light levels and consulting with artists to gain insight for the best presentation of their work. RDG's team also specified lighting equipment and provided final aiming and lighting focus at the completion of the installation.
