CORPORATE & COMMERCIAL

This office is designed as a response to the adaptive and ever-changing nature of the workplace. Desks, walls and other furniture are easily reconfigurable, responsive to the exact needs of employees at any given moment. The lighting design shares this flexibility, offering options for intense, collaborative work; solitary concentration and everything in-between.

Throughout the space, extruded metal mesh panels, designed in consultation with SITU, reflect and distribute daylight. The panels fit within a grid of custom, linear direct/indirect fixtures that contribute to the overall brightness of the space while addressing task-lighting needs—meeting code and LEED Silver simultaneously. The system is programmed to mirror the circadian rhythm of employees, adjusting intensity and color temperature throughout the day to more naturally balance the user’s interior workplace environment with the abundant natural daylight within the space. Inspired by the customizable nature of the open office lighting system, several skilled employees learned to program the system, allowing for additional scenes and triggers to be programmed as their workflow develops over the coming months and years.

Additional specialty lighting solutions improve user experience within each uniquely programmed area. In the office’s maker labs, a custom tube pendant works as an extension of the studio lighting in a modified form to provide consistent, even illumination for highly detailed work all while synched to match the color temperature of the main studio. At the conference rooms, two layers of light ensure the recommended light levels for pin-up reviews as well as video calls, avoiding glare and unwanted reflections on the camera. Breaking from the mold of traditional office spaces this tech office provides employees with the essential framework to fully adapt the space to their every need.
