Restorations

An electrical fire threatened this 1913 landmarked church, prompting the refurbishment, replacement, and supplementation of the lighting and dimming systems throughout. The lighting goals were to balance program needs, improve light levels for an aging church family and simplify maintenance.

Existing historic fixtures were restored and discreetly modified to produce better illumination or concealed additional light sources while new, yet historically sympathetic, fixtures were designed and installed to balance or add light in other areas throughout the church.

Integration of concealed low-brightness lighting preserved the Gothic mystery intended by the original architect. Seventy-four decorative fixtures work in concert with over one hundred concealed luminaires to create an architectural design that meets modern illumination expectations.
